Agarobiose Agarobiose is a naturally occurring disaccharide found in the cell walls of certain types of red algae, commonly used as a substance for microbial culture media, and it shows promise for the treatment of certain diseases such as cancer and obesity due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Synonyms: 4-O-b-D-Galactopyranosyl-3,6-anhydro-L-galactose; 3,6-Anhydro-4-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-L-galactose; Galactose, 3,6-anhydro-4-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-, L-. CAS No. 5627-25-8. Molecular formula: C12H20O10. Mole weight: 324.28. BOC Sciences 5
α-neoagaro-oligosaccharide hydrolase When neoagarohexaose is used as a substrate, the oligosaccharide is cleaved at the non-reducing end to produce 3,6-anhydro-L-galactose and agaropentaose, which is further hydrolysed to agarobiose and agarotriose. With neoagarotetraose as substrate, the products are predominantly agarotriose and 3,6-anhydro-L-galactose. In Vibrio sp. the actions of EC 3.2.1.81,β-agarase and EC 3.2.1.159 can be used to degrade agarose to 3,6-anhydro-L-galactose and D-galactose. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: α-neoagarooligosaccharide hydrolase; α-NAOS hydrolase. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 3.2.1.159. CAS No. 60063-77-6. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. EXWM-3842; α-neoagaro-oligosaccharide hydrolase; EC 3.2.1.159; 60063-77-6; α-neoagarooligosaccharide hydrolase; α-NAOS hydrolase. Cat No: EXWM-3842. Creative Enzymes
β-porphyranase The backbone of porphyran consists largely (~70%) of (1?3)-linked β-D-galactopyranose followed by (1?4)-linked α-L-galactopyranose-6-sulfate [the other 30% are mostly agarobiose repeating units of (1?3)-linked β-D-galactopyranose followed by (1?4)-linked 3,6-anhydro-α-L-galactopyranose]. This enzyme cleaves the (1?4) linkages between β-D-galactopyranose and α-L-galactopyranose-6-sulfate, forming mostly the disaccharide α-L-galactopyranose-6-sulfate-(1?3)-β-D-galactose, although some longer oligosaccharides of even number of residues are also observed. Since the enzyme is inactive on the non-sulfated agarose portion of the porphyran backbone, some agarose fragments are also included in the products. Methylation of the D-galactose prevents its binding at position -1. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: porphyranase; PorA; PorB; endo-β-porphyranase. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 3.2.1.178. β-Porphyranase. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. EXWM-3861; β-porphyranase; EC 3.2.1.178; porphyranase; PorA; PorB; endo-β-porphyranase. Cat No: EXWM-3861. Creative Enzymes
