It inhibits quinpirole-stimulated mitogenesis transfected with human D2 and D3 receptors in a functional assay. It reversibly blocks D2-mediated currents in Xenopus oocytes by G protein-gated inwardly rectifying K+ (GIRK) channels. It inhibits the conditioned avoidance response (CAR) in rats and apomorphine-induced climbing behavior in mice. It evokes a catalepsy response and blocks gnawing induced by methylphenidate in rat models of potential extrapyramidal activity. Uses: Dopamine antagonists.
