monogalactosyldiacylglycerol synthase
This enzyme adds only one galactosyl group to the diacylglycerol; EC 2.4.1.241, digalactosyldiacylglycerol synthase, adds a galactosyl group to the product of the above reaction. There are three isoforms in Arabidopsis that can be divided into two types, A-type (MGD1) and B-type (MGD2 and MGD3). MGD1 is the isoform responsible for the bulk of monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG) synthesis in Arabidopsis. Group: Enzymes. Uses: Scientific research. Group: Biochemical assay reagents. Alternative Names: 16:0-18:1 PA. CAS No. 169437-35-8. Pack Sizes: 5 mg; 10 mg; 25 mg; 50 mg; 100 mg. Product ID: HY-134174A.
galactolipid galactosyltransferase
The enzyme converts monogalactosyldiacylglycerol to digalactosyldiacylglycerol, trigalactosyldiacylglycerol and tetragalactosyldiacylglycerol. All residues are connected by β linkages. The activity is localized to chloroplast envelope membranes, but it does not contribute to net galactolipid synthesis in plants, which is performed by EC 2.4.1.46, monogalactosyldiacylglycerol synthase, and EC 2.4.1.241, digalactosyldiacylglycerol synthase. Note that the β,β-digalactosyldiacylglycerol formed by this enzyme is different from the more common α,β-digalactosyldiacylglycerol formed by EC 2.4.1.241. The enzyme provides an important mechanism for the stabili... 66676-74-2. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. The enzyme introduces a cis double bond at carbon 7 of a palmitoyl group attached to the sn-2 position of glycerolipids. The enzyme from the plant Arabidopsis thaliana is specific for palmitate in monogalactosyldiacylglycerol. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: FAD5. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 1.14.19.42. Panaxcerol C
Monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG) and digalactosyldiacylglycerol (DGDG) are the two nonionic lipid constituents of the thylakoid membrane of higher plant chloroplasts. MGDG and DGDG are present in the membrane at 56% and 29%, respectively, of the total lipid content. DGDG is a bilayer-forming lipid, while MGDG alone will only form hexagonal-II structures. Synonyms: Monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (Plant); 1,2-diacyl-3-O-β-D-galactosyl-sn-glycerol; MGDG; 1-18:3-2-18:3-Monogalactosyldiacylglycerol; 18:3-18:3-MGDG; 1,2-Di-O-alpha-linolenoyl-3-O-beta-galactopyranosyl-sn-glycerol; 1,2-(9Z,12Z,15Z-octadecatrienoyl)-3-O-beta-D-galactosyl-sn-glycerol; (9Z,9'Z,12Z,12'Z,15Z,15'Z)-(S)-3-(((2R,3R,4S,5R,6R)-3,4,5-Trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)propane-1,2-diyl bis(octadeca-9,12,15-trienoate); β-D-Galactopyranoside, (2S)-2,3-bis[[(9Z,12Z,15Z)-1-oxo-9,12,15-octadecatrien-1-yl]oxy]propyl. sn-2 acyl-lipid ω-3 desaturase (ferredoxin)
This plastidial enzyme desaturates 16:2 fatty acids attached to the sn-2 position of glycerolipids to 16:3 fatty acids, and converts18:2 to 18:3 in both the sn-1 and sn-2 positions. It acts on all 16:2- or 18:2-containing chloroplast membrane lipids, including phosphatidylglycerol, monogalactosyldiacylglycerol, digalactosyldiaclyglycerol, and sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerol. The enzyme introduces a cis double bond at a location 3 carbons away from the methyl end of the fatty acid. The distance from the carboxylic acid end of the molecule does not affect the location of the new double bond. cf. EC 1.14.19.25, acyl-lipid ω-3 desaturase (cytochrome b5) and EC 1.14.19.36, sn-1 acyl-lipid ω-3 desaturase (ferredoxin). Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: FAD7; FAD8. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 1.14.19.35. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. EXWM-0999; sn-2 acyl-lipid ω-3 desaturase (ferredoxin); EC 1.14.19.35; FAD7; FAD8. Cat No: EXWM-0999.
