| PMA | PMA, extracted from seeds of Euphorbia lathyris L, is a phorbol ester that is commonly used to activate certain types of protein kinase C (PKC), including group A (α, βI, βII, γ) and group B (δ, ε, η, θ) isoforms. It has been shown to inhibit apoptosis induced by the Fas antigen, but PMA induces apoptosis in HL-60 promyelocytic leukemia cells.
