S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione dehydrogenase The substrate, S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione, forms spontaneously from glutathione and formaldehyde; its rate of formation is increased in some bacteria by the presence of EC 4.4.1.22, S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione synthase. This enzyme forms part of the pathway that detoxifies formaldehyde, since the product is hydrolysed by EC 3.1.2.12, S-formylglutathione hydrolase. The human enzyme belongs to the family of zinc-dependent alcohol dehydrogenases. Also specifically reduces S-nitrosylglutathione. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: NAD-linked formaldehyde dehydrogenase (incorrect); formaldehyde dehydrogenase (incorrect); formic dehydrogenase (incorrect); class III. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 1.1.1.284. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. EXWM-0192; S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione dehydrogenase; EC 1.1.1.284; NAD-linked formaldehyde dehydrogenase (incorrect); formaldehyde dehydrogenase (incorrect); formic dehydrogenase (incorrect); class III alcohol dehydrogenase; ADH3; χ-ADH; FDH (incorrect); formaldehyde dehydrogenase (glutathione) (incorrect); GS-FDH (incorrect); glutathione-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase (incorrect); NAD-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase; GD-FALDH; NAD- and glutathione-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase. Cat No: EXWM-0192. Creative Enzymes
S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione synthase The enzyme from Paracoccus denitrificans accelerates the spontaneous reaction in which the adduct of formaldehyde and glutathione is formed, i.e. the substrate for EC 1.1.1.284, S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione dehydrogenase, in the formaldehyde-detoxification pathway. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: glutathione-dependent formaldehyde-activating enzyme; Gfa; S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione formaldehyde-lyase. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 4.4.1.22. CAS No. 425642-27-9. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. EXWM-5324; S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione synthase; EC 4.4.1.22; 425642-27-9; glutathione-dependent formaldehyde-activating enzyme; Gfa; S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione formaldehyde-lyase. Cat No: EXWM-5324. Creative Enzymes
S-(hydroxymethyl)mycothiol dehydrogenase S-hydroxymethylmycothiol is believed to form spontaneously from formaldehyde and mycothiol. This enzyme oxidizes the product of this spontaneous reaction to S-formylmycothiol, in a reaction that is analogous to EC 1.1.1.284, S-(hydroxymethyl)glutathione dehydrogenase. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: NAD/factor-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase; mycothiol-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 1.1.1.306. CAS No. 192140-85-5. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. EXWM-0217; S-(hydroxymethyl)mycothiol dehydrogenase; EC 1.1.1.306; 192140-85-5; NAD/factor-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase; mycothiol-dependent formaldehyde dehydrogenase. Cat No: EXWM-0217. Creative Enzymes
