Arsthinol
Arsthinol is an antiprotozoal agent which may have anti-cancer activity. It was found that arsthinol, a trivalent organoarsenic compound (dithiarsolane), has been active in vitro on leukemia cell lines and offers a better therapeutic index than arsenictrioxide, as estimated by the ratio LD50/IC50. Arsthinol induced growth inhibition of NB4 cells at lower concentration (IC50 (concentration inhibiting growth by 50%) = 0.78 +/- 0.08 micromol/l after 24 h) than As(2)O(3) (IC50 = 1.60 +/- 0.23 micromol/l after 24 h) or melarsoprol (IC50 = 1.44 +/- 0.08 micromol/l after 24 h). Arsthinol-cyclodextrin complex demonstrated to have was more effective than arsenictrioxide (As2O3) and melarsoprol on the U87 MG cell line. Importantly, in the in vivo study, significant antitumor activity against heterotopic xenografts was observed after i.p. administration. Group: Others. Alternative Names: Arsthinenol; Arsthinol; Balarsen; Mercaptoarsenol. CAS No. 119-96-0. Molecular formula: C11H14AsNO3S2. Mole weight: 347.28. Appearance: Solid powder. Purity: >98%. IUPACName: N-(2-hydroxy-5-(4-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3,2-dithiarsolan-2-yl)phenyl)acetamide. Canonical SMILES: OC1=CC=C([As](S2)SCC2CO)C=C1NC(C)=O. ECNumber: 204-361-7. Catalog: ACM119960.
Darinaparsin
Darinaparsin is a small-molecule organic arsenical with potential antineoplastic activity. Although the exact mechanism of action is unclear, darinaparsin, a highly toxic metabolic intermediate of inorganic arsenicals (iAs) that occurs in vivo, appears to generate volatile cytotoxic arsenic compounds when glutathione (GSH) concentrations are low. The arsenic compounds generated from darinaparsin disrupt mitochondrial bioenergetics, producing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inducing ROS-mediated tumor cell apoptosis; in addition, this agent or its byproducts may initiate cell death by interrupting the G2/M phase of the cell cycle and may exhibit antiangiogenic effects. Compared to inorganic arsenic compounds such as arsenictrioxide (As2O3), darinaparsin appears to exhibit a wide therapeutic window. Synonyms: ZIO 101; ZIO101; ZIO-101; SP-02; SP 02; SP02; Zinapar; L-γ-Glutamyl-S-(dimethylarsino)-L-cysteinyl-glycine. CAS No. 69819-86-9. Molecular formula: C12H22AsN3O6S. Mole weight: 411.31.
Gallium(III) oxide
Gallium sesquioxide is reduced to gallium suboxide, Ga2O [12024-20-3] by common reducing agents. Also, heating the sesquioxide with gallium metal yields gallium suboxide. Heating with magnesium reduces the oxide to elemental form in a violent reaction: Ga2O3 + 3Mg →2Ga + 3MgO Heating with mineral acids yields corresponding gallium salts. When heated with a mixture of hydrogen and arsenic vapors at 600°C, gallium arsenide, GaAs is produced. When heated with alkali metal oxide at 1,000°C, alkali metal gallates, such as K2Ga2O6 are formed. Group: Nanoparticles & nanopowders. Alternative Names: Digallium trioxide. CAS No. 12024-21-4. Molecular formula: Ga2O3. Mole weight: 187.44. Appearance: White Powder. Purity: 99%, 99.9%, 99.99%, 99.999%. IUPACName: oxo(oxogallanyloxy)gallane. Density: 5.88 g/cm³. Catalog: ACM12024214.
