D-arabinitol 4-dehydrogenase This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases, specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is D-arabinitol:NAD+ 4-oxidoreductase. Other names in common use include D-arabitol dehydrogenase and arabitol dehydrogenase. This enzyme participates in pentose and glucuronate interconversions and fructose and mannose metabolism. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: D-arabitol dehydrogenase; arabitol dehydrogenase. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 1.1.1.11. CAS No. 9028-18-6. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ?C?-80 ?C. Form: Liquid or lyophilized powder. D-arabinitol dehydrogenase (NADP+) The enzyme from the rust fungus Uromyces fabae can use D-arabinitol and D-mannitol as substrates in the forward direction and D-xylulose, D-ribulose and, to a lesser extent, D-fructose as substrates in the reverse direction. This enzyme carries out the reactions of both EC 1.1.1.11, D-arabinitol 4-dehydrogenase and EC 1.1.1.250, D-arabinitol 2-dehydrogenase, but unlike them, uses NADP+ rather than NAD+ as cofactor. D-Arabinitol is capable of quenching reactive oxygen species involved in defense reactions of the host plant. Group: Enzymes. Synonyms: NADP+-dependent D-arabitol dehydrogenase; ARD1p; D-arabitol dehydrogenase 1. Enzyme Commission Number: EC 1.1.1.287. Storage: Store it at +4 ?C for short term.
