Product Keywords: Excipients for Liquid Dosage Form; Suspending Agents; PE-0639; Carrageenan; Emulsifying Agents; Stabilizing Agents; Suspending Agents; Sustained-release Agents; Viscosity-increasing Agents;. UNII: 5C69YCD2YJ. Grade: Pharmceutical Excipients. Stability and Storage Conditions: Carrageenan is a stable, though hygroscopic, polysaccharide and should be stored in a cool, dry place. Carrageenan in solution has maximum stability at pH 9 and should not be heat processed at pH values below 3.5. Acid and oxidizing agents may hydrolyze carrageenan in solution leading to loss of physical properties through cleavage of glycosidic bonds. Acid hydrolysis depends on pH, temperature and time. The acid hydrolysis takes place only when the carrageenan is dissolved, and the hydrolysis is accelerated as the processing temperature and/or the processing time is increased. However, when the carrageenan is in its gelled state the acid hydrolysis no longer takes place. Source and Preparation: The main sp… CD Formulation

κ-carrageenan Carrageenan is a hydrophilic colloid that is extracted from red algae seaweeds such as unicornia, celery, and carrageen. Their chemical structures are calcium, potassium, sodium and ammonium salts of polysaccharide sulfates composed of galactose and anhydrogalactose. Carrageenan can be divided into 7 types, including K-type (Kappa), I-type (Iota), and L-type (Lambda), according to the different positions where the half-ester sulfate group is attached to galactose. The gel properties of carrageenan are mainly related to its chemical composition, structure and molecular size. Based on the properties of carrageenan, they are widely used in the food industry, medicine and other fields. Source and Preparation: Pullulan polysaccharide is a kind of special microbial polysaccharide discovered by R. Boer in 1938. It is a kind of extracellular water-soluble mucous polysaccharide similar to glucan and xanthan gum produced by fermentation of sprouted stalk fungus. Black yeast (AureobasidIumpullulans, also called aureobasidium pullulans) were incubated in the medium containing starch hydrolysates (generally cerealose) and inorganic salts (27-30 °C, 4-7 days), then heated and centrifuged to remove the bacteria, and the filtrate was precipitated with an equal amount of ethanol. It is then dissolved in water and refined. CD Formulation
Safotibant Safotibant is a non-peptide bradykinin B1 receptor antagonis. It is used for the topical treatment of diabetic macular oedema. It displayed binding Ki values of 0.35 and 6.5 nM at cloned human and mouse B1 receptors respectively. Tara gum Tara gum is a galactomannan derived from the seeds of the tara shrub Caesalpinia spinosa, which is native to northern Africa and South America. The gum is described as having a backbone of (1-4)-linked β-D-mannopyranosyl units one third of which possess a single unit side chain of (1-6)-linked α-D-galactopyranose. It forms gels with carrageenan and xanthan in a similar way to guar gum and locust bean gum. Currently, only a small amount of tara gum is used as a food thickener and stabilizer. CAS No. 39300-88-4.
