| phenylalanine racemase (ATP-hydrolysing) | The enzyme phenylalanine racemase is the enzyme that acts on amino acids and derivatives. It activates both the L & D stereo isomers of phenylalanine to form L-phenylalanyl adenylate and D-phenylalanyl adenylate, which are bound to the enzyme.
